*Israeli Occupation Forces’ Gunfire Follows Gaza’s Students Into Their Classrooms*

Student Amir Abu Sneima was wounded by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire while attending a lesson inside his makeshift classroom at Gaza Children’s Village School in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

According to the school, military towers stationed in Rafah opened fire directly on the school, which is affiliated with Rafah Directorate of Education. One bullet pierced the blackboard, passing close to the teacher’s head, before striking Amir in the chest, directly beside his heart.

The child had been displaced with his family to Al-Mawasi after Israeli attacks destroyed both their home and his school in Rafah. Despite the relentless bombardment, displacement and harsh humanitarian conditions, he was trying to continue his education.

Amir is currently receiving treatment at Nasser Medical Complex for his injuries.

In response, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has appealed to the international community to take urgent action to halt the ongoing aggression and stop the firing on schools. It also called for the protection of students and educational institutions, stressing that Gaza’s children have the right to learn and live in safety, free from bullets and bombardment.
